Professor at the Chinese International Education College (Overseas Education College), Xiamen University; Visiting Scholar at the University of Edinburgh, UK. Research interests include the dissemination of Chinese literature, international Chinese language education, and folk culture. She formerly taught at the Confucius Institute at the University of Trier, Germany. She currently serves as a council member of the Women's Committee of the China Contemporary Literature Research Association, an expert reviewer for the Ministry of Education's Humanities and Social Sciences Research Projects, and a member of the Fujian Provincial Language Experts Database. As a principal investigator, she has led and completed more than ten research projects, including those funded by the Ministry of Education's Humanities and Social Sciences Research Projects, Provincial Social Science Planning Projects, the Center for Language Education and Cooperation's Key Resource Development Projects, Sino-foreign joint research projects in international Chinese language education, as well as various municipal and provincial-level projects. She has  also participated as a major contributor in major projects funded by the National Social Science Fund and several projects funded by the Ministry of Education. She has published over thirty papers in leading humanities and social sciences journals such as Studies of Ethnic Literature, Theatre Arts, Journal of Beijing Normal University, and Journal of Nankai University. She hasauthored and edited several monographs and textbooks.
