 Public Area Wi-Fi (XMUNET+)

This Wi-Fi primarily covers public teaching areas such as classrooms, libraries, cafeterias, and student activity centers. It is completely free.

Wi-Fi Name: XMUNET+

Login Account: Your student ID number

Login Password: Campus network access password (also referred to as Wi-Fi/VPN password). Please note that this password is different from the one used for other university systems.

Dormitory Area Wi-Fi (XMU-DORM)

The dormitory Wi-Fi is also free, with a bandwidth of 50Mbps per person, supporting up to three devices simultaneously.

Wi-Fi Name: XMU-DORM

Special Note: Before using the dormitory Wi-Fi, you must first visit a China Unicom service center to complete registration and real-name authentication. This is required by national regulations and is solely for network authentication, not for activating a phone card.

Four Steps for New Students to Access the Network

Set Your Campus Network Password: If you are a new student, you need to set your Wi-Fi password before using it for the first time. You can do this by visiting https://pass.xmu.edu.cn via a computer browser, or by downloading the "Cloud QuickPass(云闪付)" app and searching for the "Xiamen University Digital Campus Card(厦大数字校园卡)" mini-program.

Register for Dormitory Wi-Fi: Bring your original passport to the designated China Unicom service center to complete the registration.

Address: China Unicom(中国联通) at the first floor of Phase 1 Comprehensive Building or next to Jingfeng Restaurant.

Connect to Dormitory Wi-Fi: After completing the registration, connect to XMU-DORM in your dormitory and log in using your student ID(or username recorded during registration)and Wi-Fi password for authentication.

Useful Tips

Password Change: If you forget or wish to change your Wi-Fi password in the future, the most convenient way is through the "Xiamen University Digital Campus Card" mini-program in the "Cloud QuickPass" app.

Device Limit Exceeded: If you see a "Device Limit Exceeded" notification, it means you have connected more than three devices. Please turn off the Wi-Fi on some devices that are not in use, wait 15 minutes, and then reconnect the devices you need.

Off-Campus Access: If you need to access academic databases or other resources from the library while off-campus, you can use the university's WebVPN service at webvpn.xmu.edu.cn.
