
Hailed as one of the ”most beautiful campuses” in China, Xiamen University, which has three campuses in the famed coastal city of Xiamen, southeast China’s Fujian province, are set amidst picturesque scenery. Xiamen University ranks in the top 20 among over 2,000 universities and colleges in China, and enjoys an excellent reputation worldwide.
On May 8th, Xiamen University released its Teacher Recruitment Plan for 2014, in which the university stated that it would recruit over 300 professors and associate professors from around the world.
According to the plan, it will recruit talents who are engaged in the Humanities and Social Sciences, Natural Science, Engineering Technology, Medical Science and other emerging sciences.
The applicants have to have doctorate degrees or the highest degree of the subject they’ve studied. The age limitation for full professorship is not older than 45 years old, and the associate professor should not be over 40 years old.
Xiamen University was founded in 1921 by Tan Kah Kee, the well-known patriotic overseas Chinese leader. It was the first university in China founded by an overseas Chinese. At present it is the only university in any of the five special economic zones and is one of China's higher-level universities designated by state key construction of the “211 Project” and the “985 Project”.
