2014 China (Xiamen) International Boat Show (CXIBS)

The 2014 China (Xiamen) International Boat Show (CXIBS), one of the largest boat shows in China, kicked off in Wuyuan Bay on 7th November.

This year, the land part of the boat show was relocated to an isolated artificial islet, Music Island, at Wuyuan Bay. The Music Island was created using construction waste accumulated during the reconstruction of Wuyuan Bay, and covers an area of about 63,400 square meters. It has pleasant surroundings, which include a mangrove, black swans, and beautiful bridges.

During the boat show, visitors had the opportunity to enjoy the sailing experience in sail boats and yachts. Visitors could choose sail boats, yachts or OP sail boats for young people (6-12 years old). The price for the 3 different experiences were RMB100 for half an hour, RMB60 for half an hour and RMB20 for 15 minutes.

In addition, a yacht made by Xiamen Luqiao Yacht Development Co., Ltd is expected to make its trial voyage to Kinmen in late November.

With the reputation as a "Garden on the Sea", Xiamen has been accelerating its yacht industry layout and policy promotion from yacht production and sales to yacht life in recent years and has realized the crossover of developing from having a yacht industry to securing a yacht economy, which makes Xiamen a new and outstanding spot in the Western Taiwan Straits Economic Zone.

The trial trip of the yacht to Kinmen means that a voyage to Taiwan by yacht from the mainland will no longer be just a dream.
