As one of the few pedestrian streets outside Xiamen Island, as well as the first pedestrian street in Haicang district, Haifu Road, which is 300 meters long and 14 meters wide, will be put into trial operation on January 1st, 2015. Meanwhile, a series of events will be held to attract citizens to Haifu Road.

A series of Minnan-Taiwan style events will be held on Haifu Road by the ‘Xiamen Evening News’ and the Haicang Sub-district Office from January 1st to the Lantern Festival.
A souvenir selection activity will be held on Haifu Road on January 1st, where participating merchants will exhibit their goods and receive appraisals by experts and citizens. The activity will select the top 20 best souvenirs and gifts in Xiamen that will be published by the ‘Xiamen Evening News’ and on the government websites. Citizens can attend the citizen jury by applying to the ‘Xiamen Evening News’. Besides, a Life & Food Fair will be held on Haifu Road at the same time.
