Xiamen awarded as 'China's Best Conference Destination in 2014'

A total of 182 conferences and exhibitions, including 8 international exhibitions, were held in Xiamen in the first 11 months of 2014,
   
The 5th ‘China International Conference Industry Week’ kicked off in the Beijing National Convention Center from December 14 to December 16. During the ceremony, Xiamen city was awarded as “China’s Best Conference Destination in 2014”, and it was the 3rd award that Xiamen received after being awarded as ‘China’s Famous Conference & Exhibition City in 2013-2014’ and ‘China’s Most Attractive Conference Destination in 2014’.

The Xiamen government has promoted the development of the conference and exhibition industry in the city in recent years. According to incomplete statistics, a total of 182 conferences and exhibitions, including 8 international exhibitions, were held in the first 11 months of 2014, covering an area of 1.68 million square meters, up 7.7% and 9.6%, respectively. Meanwhile, 3,603 commercial conferences with more than 50 attendants, including 49 international conferences, were held from January to November in 2014, attracting over 784,000 people from home and abroad.

The Xiamen government issued a document titled ‘Several Opinions on promoting the development of the meeting exhibition industry’ to strengthen its support on the meeting exhibition industry in June 2014. The city has received remarkable achievements in the conference and exhibition area and received many awards in recent years.

Held by the “China Conference & Exhibition” magazine, the China International Conference Industry Week enjoys a good reputation in the conference industry area.
