On December 1st, a total of 1,500 new sightseeing bikes in the five colors of red, pink, blue, purple and green were put into use at 8 authorized rental stations along Huandao Road.
Of the new sightseeing bikes, 1,200 of them were deployed in the 8 rental stations and the remaining 300 were stationed at a bike deployment center for flexible deployment.
The 8 rental stations are located at Xiada Baicheng, Zhenzhu Bay, Calligraphy Square, Music Square, Tatou, Yefengzhai, the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center and Guanyinshan.
All the new sightseeing bikes can only run on bike lanes along Huandao Road, according to xmnn.cn.
An intelligent management system was also put into use, which allows bike renters to return the bikes at any of the 8 stations and pay the fare with a bike rental card, which will be available at the 8 bike stations.
How to get a sightseeing bike rental card:
Residents or tourists can use valid identity certificates to get a card with a deposit of 300 yuan and a minimum top-up of 50 yuan. If people can’t offer valid identity certificates, then they will need to pay a deposit of 500 yuan.
The money will be returned after the bikes are returned and the fare is paid.
Sightseeing bike rental fares:
Two-seat bikes: start from 30 yuan and every 5 yuan for every additional half hour after the first hour
Three-seat bikes: start from 40 yuan and every 10 yuan for every additional half hour after the first hour

8am-9pm (summer)
9am-8pm (winter)
Bikes can be returned at any of the 8 stations one hour before close of business, otherwise renters have to return the bikes to where they rented it.
