Xiamen International Women’s Golf Open is being held from Nov 21 to 23 in Xiamen, Fujian province, with a total prize of 250,000 euros ($314,000).

The competition, approved by the China LPGA Tour and Ladies European Tour, will be covered live on TV for three hours every day in 28 countries and regions of Asia, Europe, and North America.

Golf competitions can help promote the tourism and image of a host city, especially high-end tourism. Xiamen aims to show its integrated natural resources, tourism, sports games and local customs on a world stage, and promote its tertiary industry.

Xiamen’s golf industry used to attract tourists from South Korea and the international competition is now expected to draw more attention from Europe.
