World's biggest elephant specimen to be on display in Xiamen

The biggest elephant specimen in the world, with a length of 6 meters and a height of 3.3 meters, arrived at the Xiamen Ling Ling International Circus on November 21. Meanwhile, the construction of the natural specimens museum of the Xiamen Ling Ling International circus will be kicked off in the near future.

According to an introduction released, the elephant specimen, an 80-year-old elephant from South Africa, is also the biggest specimen of terrestrial animal in the world. With a total weight of nearly 3 tons, it has a pair of 1.5-meter-long front teeth, 1.3-meter-long ears, a 1.7-meter-long body, 1.5-meter-long tail, and a leg circumference of nearly one meter. From November 23 to November 26, the elephant specimen will be staged in the Xiamen International Exhibition and Conference Center as an exhibit of the 2014 Museum and Relevant Products and Technologies Exposition.

Besides, a total of 21 other animal specimens, including the Nile Crocodile, Eland Antelope, Springbok, and African Lion, etc. will also be exhibited at the Xiamen Ling Ling International Circus.
