In February 2026, Cardiff, UK, was immersed in a joyous and harmonious festive atmosphere as the Confucius Institute at Cardiff University, in collaboration with local organizations, successfully hosted a series of Chinese New Year celebrations. Through a diverse array of cultural experiences and breathtaking stage performances, residents and international friends in Cardiff had a close encounter with the unique charm of Chinese culture.
On February 15th, the Confucius Institute was invited to participate in the Chinese New Year celebration hosted by Insole Court, becoming a highlight of the local festivities. The institute meticulously set up five cultural experience workshops, attracting enthusiastic participation from parents, children, and community elders.
On February 21st, Cardiff Central Library was adorned with festive decorations as the Confucius Institute hosted a meticulously planned Chinese New Year celebration. Multiple cultural experience zones, including tea art performances, calligraphy, Chinese knot-making, lantern-making, and paper-cutting workshops, were simultaneously open, allowing participants to immerse themselves in the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture.
On February 22nd, the Confucius Institute at Cardiff University, in collaboration with the Cardiff Red Dragon Centre, hosted a grand Chinese New Year celebration, attracting over 3,500 participants from Cardiff's local community, overseas Chinese, and international friends.
