Recently, the Confucius Institute at Mae Fah Luang University was invited to participate in a series of Spring Festival celebrations held in collaboration with the Chiang Rai municipal government and several primary and secondary schools. The events aimed to celebrate the Chinese New Year, promote traditional Chinese culture, and further strengthen cultural exchange and friendship between China and Thailand.

On February 13, the Institute’s teaching team took part in the Chinese New Year gala at Pengboguan School, presenting a medley of Chinese songs and creating a joyful festive atmosphere. On February 16, Director Zhang Tao led teacher representatives to attend the Spring Festival celebration at Chiang Rai Unity School, where they joined traditional cultural experience activities and interactive sessions, further enhancing cooperation in Chinese language education.

On February 18, the Confucius Institute participated in the 19th “Opening the Door to Learning Chinese Culture” Spring Festival celebration, hosted by the Chiang Rai municipal government and organized by Chiang Rai First Primary School. The event featured lion dances, song and dance performances, and various traditional cultural activities. In recognition of its outstanding contributions to promoting Chinese culture, the Confucius Institute was awarded a certificate of honor by the Chiang Rai municipal government.

Through these diverse and engaging activities, the Confucius Institute not only helped create a vibrant festive atmosphere but also strengthened its partnerships with local government and educational institutions. Looking ahead, the Institute will continue to expand cultural exchange platforms and contribute to the sustained development of China–Thailand friendship.
