On February 14, 2026, the Confucius Institute at Middle East Technical University  organized a Spring Festival cultural event celebrating the Year of the Horse. A total of 24 students from weekend Chinese classes and elective Chinese courses participated in the event. The program was structured around three components: cultural introduction, interactive activities, and traditional food preparation. Activities included writing the Chinese character “Fu” (福), pasting Spring Festival couplets, participating in a themed cultural quiz, and making dumplings. Through these activities, students developed a systematic understanding of the origins, customs, and cultural significance of the Spring Festival.The event further strengthened participants’ awareness and appreciation of the Chinese language and traditional culture.
