On 3rd February, Cardiff Confucius Institute was invited to host a Spring Festival–themed China Day at Bedwas High School, creating a vibrant Chinese New Year atmosphere on campus. Around 120 students participated in the event, which opened with a cultural talk on the origins, traditions and cultural significance of the Spring Festival. Students were then divided into groups to take part in a range of interactive activities, including Chinese calligraphy, Baduanjin traditional fitness exercises, paper firecracker making and Chinese song learning, allowing them to experience Chinese language, arts and traditional culture firsthand. The event was warmly received by students, who said it deepened their understanding of the Spring Festival and increased their interest in Chinese culture. Following the event, Bedwas High School representative Leigh Roberts praised the activity in a letter of appreciation, noting that many students rarely have opportunities to engage with Chinese culture and that the event generated great excitement across the school. The successful China Day further strengthened cooperation between the Cardiff Confucius Institute and local schools and contributed to the promotion of cultural exchange and diversity.
