On Chinese New Year’s Eve for the Year of the Horse 2026, Ding Feng, a teacher of the Confucius Institute at the University of the Philippines, organized a Spring Festival cultural experience for students. The activity included trying on traditional Hanfu and learning about ancient Chinese etiquette, creating handmade Spring Festival crafts such as lanterns and the Chinese Loong, and singing festive songs including “Happy New Year” and “Gong Xi Gong Xi”. Through ritual practice, creative expression, and music, students gained a deeper understanding of Chinese traditions and celebrated the Chinese New Year in a vivid and meaningful way.
