On 1 February 2026, the Confucius Institute at Stellenbosch University was invited to participate in the Celebration of Chinese New Year 2026 in Cape Town, presenting a rich variety of Chinese cultural experiences to local residents and international visitors. These activities included Hanfu Experience, Bracelet Weaving, Chinese Character Riddles, Five-in-a-Row (Gomoku), and Chinese Tea Ceremony, all of which were warmly received by the public.In addition, Stellenbosch University, Ashiquah Norodien, performed the Chinese song "Huohong de Sarilang", while Stefan Prins from Stellenbosch High School sang the classic Chinese piece "Prelude to Water Melody (Shuidiao Getou)" in Chinese, earning enthusiastic applause from the audience.
