To celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year, the Confucius Institute at the University of the Philippines (CIUP) organized the 2026 "Welcoming Spring with a Myriad of ‘Fu’ Characters" calligraphy event on January 17-18 at its Angeles City College and Makati University teaching sites. In collaboration with cultural associations, CIUP teachers conducted workshops where they demonstrated traditional techniques. Students enthusiastically practiced writing the auspicious "Fu" (fortune) character on red paper, experiencing Chinese calligraphy and New Year customs firsthand. This activity successfully promoted cultural exchange and fostered a deeper appreciation for Chinese traditions among participants.
