On January 26, 2026, 33 graduate students from Tsinghua University’s “New Geese Class” visited the Trier Confucius Institute in Germany to conduct a cultural exchange marking the 54th anniversary of China-Germany diplomatic relations. Prof. i.R. Dr. Karl-Heinz Pohl delivered a lecture on “Reflections on Intercultural Dialogue,” covering Max Weber’s cultural theory, values, and Confucianism’s influence, while students actively discussed topics including Weber, the Sinicization of Marxism, and its similarities with Confucian thought. This first stop of their European tour aimed to promote Chinese cultural dissemination and China-Germany youth academic exchange.
