On January 9, 2026, the Confucius Institute at Middle East Technical University (METU) held the graduation ceremony for its Fifth Overseas Chinese Language Class in Ankara, attended by H.E. Ambassador Jiang Xuebin of the People’s Republic of China to Türkiye, Minister Counsellor Cong Song, representatives of the Chinese Embassy, and leaders of the Ankara Chinese Community Association, together with teachers, students, and parents. Students presented stage-based performances such as idiom stories, children’s songs, classical poetry recitations, and choral singing, demonstrating clear progress in listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Ambassador Jiang commended the dedication of the Confucius Institute’s teachers and the strong support of the Chinese community, encouraged overseas Chinese youth to study Chinese well and promote traditional Chinese culture, and reaffirmed the Embassy’s continued support. The ceremony also included a Chinese cultural experience session featuring traditional fan-making. Since its launch in 2023, the program has completed five sessions, and the METU Confucius Institute will continue to advance the initiative under the principle of “language as a bridge and culture as a bond,” contributing to people-to-people exchanges and mutual understanding between China and Türkiye.
