From July 1, an updated railway network will come into operation with the addition of a one-trip and 60 round-trip passenger train services, including 53 new MU (multiple units) round-trip services.

The revamp will increase the number of China’s round-trip passenger train services to 2447, including 1330 MU ones. By then, Xiamen North Railway Station will offer a new record of 96 round-trip passenger MU services, 57 of which (including five peak-time routes) start from and terminate at the station and 39 of which (including six peak-time routes) make a stop there; while the situation for Xiamen Gaoqi Railway Station remains unchanged.

The greatest change in the railway network lies in the newly opened Xiamen North--Beijing South (High Speed) and Xiamen North--Chongqing North MU services, allowing 17 more cities to be reached by direct trains from Xiamen.

Additionally, Xiamen and Shenzhen will see a greater transportation capacity between the two cities. The D2305/2 and D2329/32 round-trip MU services, both between Xiamen North and Beijing South, will be added to the train schedule. Four peak-time round-trip MU services—D673/4, D681/2, D683/4, D685/6—will be geared to the large quantities of passengers at holidays and festivals. After July 1, the number of round trip MU services between the two cities—serving as departure/terminal stations or stop-over stations—will increase to 30.

Moreover, the new D6333/4 round-trip MU service between Xiamen South and Fuding will come into service, as will be the peak-time D6303/4round-trip MU service between Xiamen and Fuzhou (yet to be opened). However, the D6237/8 round-trip MU service between Xiamen and Fuzhou will be taken out of service.

The railway station advises passengers to check the altered train schedule before their trips. All the train services that start from the two Xiamen stations will operate according to the new network plan from July 1, except for the G166 (Xiamen North--Beijing South) and the D 2232 (Xiamen North--Chongqing North) that will not be available until July 2.
