The Overall Plan of Minnan Cultural Ecology Protective Zone was published and implemented by the Government of Fujian Province recently.

Fujian is planning to strengthen its education and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage, construct an education and inheritance system of Minnan culture from kindergarten, primary and secondary school to university, and encourage and support more colleges and universities like Xiamen University to open courses on Minnan culture.

It is reported that colleges and universities, including Xiamen University, Fujian Normal University, Minnan Normal University, and Quanzhou Normal University will be encouraged and supported by the government to open disciplines and specialties on Minnan culture; and arts and technical vocational schoolslike Fujian Vocational College of Art, Anxi Tea Culture College of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, The Xiamen Academy for Performing Arts, Quanzhou Arts and Crafts Vocational College, Quanzhou Arts School, Zhangzhou Arts School, and Tenfu Tea College (of Zhangzhou) will also be encouraged and supported to enroll students of specialties on intangible cultural heritage.
