
According to the Fujian Provincial Environmental Protection Bureau, Xiamen’s air quality met 100% of the air quality standards in the 3rd quarter, which was superior to Fuzhou and Quanzhou.
Based on the “Regulations of Fujian Province on Environmental Protection”, the Fujian Environmental Protection Bureau made an air quality report of 23 Fujian cities in the third quarter of 2014.
According to the report, the 23 cities of Fujian saw 99.8% qualified air quality from July to September, with their excellent air quality days accounting for 64.3%. This is better than the 6.2% compared with the same period of last year. The fairly good air quality days accounted for 35.5% of the third quarter in the 23 cities, down 6.2% compared with the same period of the previous year.
Under the new air quality standards, from July to September, the percentage of days that met standards reached 94.0% in Fuzhou, 100% in Xiamen, and 98.8% Quanzhou. The comprehensive air quality index in Fuzhou, Xiamen, and Quanzhou reached 3.30, 3.43, and 2.98, respectively.
In the third quarter, the main pollutant in Xiamen was ozone. The level of daytime noise met the standards by 100% in Fuzhou, Xiamen, and Quanzhou.
