Feel the caress of a cool sea breeze while lying in silence on Baicheng Beach

Baicheng Beach is located just outside the south gate of Xiamen University. Although it has a seawater quality less ideal than that of Sanya Beach, it has soft fine sand and the transportation is convenient for its closeness to Huandao Road. Students from Xiamen University are a common sight, bathing in the wind and sunshine, chatting or just daydreaming.

The twilight at Baicheng Beach will make you fall in love with Xiamen immediately. The ravishing sun inches below the level of the golden glittering sea, setting off the silhouette of distant figures.

The moist cool wind strokes your cheeks when you have a flash of insight about the full measure of this island city’s beauty. It’s tempting to imagine that you stroll hand in hand with your beloved, with that sandy softness underfoot.

In nice weather, a swarm of children will romp and play in the sand, further spicing up Baicheng Beach—the most bustling bathing beach of Xiamen. Parents are recommended to allow their children more time for the beach while warned to take good care of them for fear of the dangers.

Tourist Sites near Baicheng Beach to Recommend:

South Putuo Temple: located near the north gate of Xiamen University. As a Buddhist temple well known in South Fujian and even across the country, the complex sits against the backdrop of breath-taking mountain ranges and is open free to the public. Don’t forget to treat yourself to the popular cottage puddings of South Putuo Temple.

Hulishan Cannon Fort: in the vicinity of Baicheng Beach. A￥25 (about $4) ticket enables you to see the largest and the smallest canons in the world.

Xiamen University: facing Baicheng Beach across the road. A walking tour on the campus will give you a taste of the serenity of this “most beautiful university”.
