The opening ceremony of short-term program of San Diego State University (SDSU) of the United States was held at Conference Room A104 of Overseas Education College (OEC)on the morning of June 27. Among the attendees were 20 students from the Law School of San Diego State University, John Cleary, professor who led the team, Lv Zixuan, teacher of OEC and Liu Wanyu, Director of OEC Admissions Office.

Mr. Lv Zixuan welcomed students from SDSU on behalf of OEC. He went on to introduce the history of XMU and OEC and the development of international exchange, and wished the students fruitful achievementsin two weeks’ study. Professor John Cleary expressed his expectation that the students would cherish their opportunity of studying in XMU by improving their Chinese language proficiency and learning more about Chinese culture. Representatives of students also expressed their appreciation for the warmly reception of OEC and their determination to master Chinese language.

The students started their classes immediately after the closure of the ceremony. The hot weather had no influence on their enthusiasm for study at all.
