Mini Three Links routes are increasingly popular among tourists.
From January to November, the number of tourists from mainland China to Taiwan via Xiamen port reached 244,000, up 114.95% from the same period of last year, according to statistics released by the Xiamen Tourism Administration.
Among the visitors, 159,444 went to Taiwan Island, a year-on-year increase of 103.31%; while the number of tourists who traveled to Kinmen and Penghu reached 85,055, increasing by 140.82% compared with last year.
According to the statistics, a total of 35,801 temporary residents in Xiamen traveled to Taiwan during the 11 months. 641,079 tourists from Taiwan stayed overnight in Xiamen from January-November, up 6.38% from last year, accounting for 38.59% of the total number of overnight tourists in Xiamen.
Mini Three Links routes are increasingly popular among tourists. According to reports, about 94,921 tourists chose this means of transportation, accounting for 59.53% of the total number of the tourists.
The Mini Three Links allows for limited postal, transportation, and trade links between Fujian cities of Xiamen, Mawei and Quanzhou, and the islands of Kinmen and Matsu.
