国际中国语言学学会第23届年会(IACL-23) 第一号通告
国际中国语言学学会(International Association of Chinese Linguistics)第23届年会暨第一届韩汉语言学国际学术会议( International Symposium on Sino-Korean Linguistics )将于2015年6月19日至6月21日在韩国汉阳大学召开。会议诚挚邀请世界各地从事汉语语言学诸领域研究的专家、同仁踊跃参加;本次会议也欢迎提交韩汉语言学研究论文。
一、论文提要征集
每篇论文的宣读时间为15分钟, 讨论时间5分钟。每位学者在提交独自的论文提要之外,最多只能再提交一篇共同撰写的论文提要。
提要格式:
1.请使用DOC或PDF文件
2.提要语言可以使用英语或汉语,但请与会议发表时语言相同。
英文:请用标准的Times New Roman字体,12号字体
中文:请用宋体或SimSun,小四号字体
3.提要长度(包含例句与参考书目)不超过一页A4/letter纸,各边距为2.5厘米。
4.请发送两份提要:一份不含任何个人信息,用于匿名评审;另一份请注明“姓名、职称、单位、电子邮箱”及所属研究领域(如:语音、音韵、形态、语法、历史语言学、社会语言学、应用语言学、韩汉语言学等)

提要提交期限与录用通知
论文提要请在2014年12月15日前提交。审核结果将于2015年2月10日公布。注意:非会员必须在论文提要录用通知发出后30天内(即2015年3月10号前)加入国际中国语言学学会,否则会议宣读论文资格将被取消。
二、论文征集 (包含YSA奖、MJH奖、IRA奖)
青年学者奖(YSA)
“青年学者奖(YSA)”是IACL学会为奖掖青年学者而设置的一项创新性奖项,本届年会将循例举办论文竞赛。竞赛论文经IACL学会评审委员会匿名评审初选入围者(最多5位,一般2-4位),可获得500美元内的旅途补助,并受邀参加当年会议宣读论文,按照固定程序参加决赛。若经过评审委员审议,无符合条件的论文,则没有受邀入选者。被选出的最优秀者将在年会晚宴时获得荣誉证书。
申请资格:
1.候选者在申请当年不超过35周岁、且职称在副教授以下(不包括副教授)
2.曾在IACL往届年会上获得过此奖项者不得参加本次论文竞赛。
3. 应为IACL会员。尚未成为IACL会员者应在收到入选通知书后30天内加入学会,否则将取消其参加资格。
论文要求:
1.提交论文全文,长度不得超过A4纸25页。
2.论文必须是原创性的,独立完成并未曾公开发表;曾经入围IACL往届年会论文决赛、但未获奖项者,符合第一项条件者,仍然可以参加本次论文竞赛,但不得提交与往届入围决赛论文相同的论文。

桥本万太郎汉语历史音韵学奖(MJH)
该奖项的年度奖金为500美金,由余霭芹教授捐赠,为纪念杰出的语言学家和汉学家桥本万太郎教授所设,藉以鼓励年轻的学者献身于汉语历史音韵学的研究。该奖评选与“青年学者奖”隶属同一程序,所有参选“青年学者奖”的论文中,凡属于汉语历史音韵学研究领域的,则自动参加MJH奖的评选。
论文要求:
请于邮件标题处写上“MJH”。其他一切要求均与上面公布的YSA要求相同,请按其要求准备。请特别注意, MJH 奖只颁发给汉语历史音韵学领域的论文。
跨学科研究奖(IRA)
该奖项的年度奖金为500美金,为表彰谢信一教授在本学会与中国语言学跨学科领域的卓越贡献而设立。藉以鼓励年轻的学者投身于跨学科的中国语言学研究。该奖评选与“青年学者奖”隶属同一程序,所有参选“青年学者奖”的论文中,凡属于跨学科中国语言学研究领域的,则自动参加IRA奖的评选。
论文要求:
请于邮件标题处写上“IRA”。其他一切要求均与上面公布的YSA要求相同,请按其要求准备。请特别注意,IRA奖只颁发给跨学科中国语言学领域的论文。所谓跨学科研究,指的是接口研究(如语音-句法接口,句法语义接口, 形态句法接口等)结合历时和共时的方法,从不同框架(如形式主义,功能主义,类型学等)与各自的方法论相结合的研究,或是语言学和其他学科(如文学、社会学、人类学、心理学、计算机学等)相结合的研究。

Conference Themes
We are inviting abstracts and/or papers addressing any fields of Chinese linguistics or linguistic studies of languages in China. We especially welcome those works representing Diverse perspectives on Chinese linguistics in the world, which is the theme of IACL23. In addition, as IACL23 will be held jointly with the ISSKL-1, we also encourage scholars to submit works on Sino-Korean linguistics.
Call for Abstracts (oral presentations & poster sessions)
Each oral presentation will be 15 minutes, followed by a 5-minute discussion. Submissions are limited to one individual and one joint abstract per author. Those abstracts which do not qualify for oral presentations will be automatically considered for poster presentations during the blind review process.
Formatting Guidelines
Abstracts should be in MS Word DOC format, or in PDF if special fonts (such as IPA) are used.
Abstracts should be written in English for presentations in English, or in Chinese for presentations in Chinese:
For English: Please use standard Times New Roman font, size 12 pt
For Chinese: Please use Song font (宋体) or SimSun, size ‘small 4’ or 12 pt
All non-standard fonts should be embedded in the document.
Abstracts are limited to one page (using 2.5 cm or 1 inch margins on all sides), including examples and (selected) references.
Two copies of an abstracts should be submitted:
(1) one anonymous (with title only)
(2) another with title and personal information such as name(s), academic rank, institution(s), and email address(s). This second abstract should include a subcategory (such as phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, historical linguistics, sociolinguistics, applied linguistics, Sino-Korean linguistics, etc.)

Submission Deadline
Abstracts should be submitted no later than December 15, 2014. The result will be announced around February 10, 2015. Non-IACL members must join IACL by March 10, 2015 to be eligible to present at the conference.
Call for Papers (IACL competitions: YSA, MJH, IRA)
The Young Scholar Award (YSA)
The YSA competition is an innovative attempt by the IACL to promote, recognize, and encourage scholarship by young scholars. It is held once a year in conjunction with the IACL annual conference.
A maximum of 5 (normally 2-4) finalists will be selected, and each will be awarded a travel subsidy (of around $500) and invited to the IACL conference to give an oral presentation at a special session organized for this purpose, before a panel of judges chaired by the IACL President (the review committee of any given year may also recommend that no finalist be invited). The author of the best paper selected by the panel will be honored at the banquet of the annual conference and presented with an award certificate.
Eligibility
35 years of age or below as of the year of the conference.
Current rank below that of Associate Professor in the Chinese and American university systems, and below that of Senior Lecturer in the British system.
Previous award winners are not allowed to re-enter the competition.
IACL membership: Non-members must join the IACL within 30 days of notice of acceptance.
Submission Guidelines
Each participant is required to submit a full paper of not more than 25 pages (double-spaced) in length.
All submissions for the YSA competition must be original papers that have not been published or accepted for publication, nor presented at a major conference and to appear in its proceedings.
A paper submitted to a previous IACL conference cannot be resubmitted.
Please submit (1) the abstract, (2) the full paper directly to the conference email address (iacl23@hanyang.ac.kr), and include the word YSA in the subject line of the submission email.
In the body of the email message, please include:
paper title,
subcategory (e.g., syntax, phonology, Sino-Korean linguistics)
author’s name ,
author’s age as of 2015,
affiliation and academic rank, and
email address.
Submission Deadline
The abstract and the full paper should be submitted no later than December 15, 2014. The results will be announced around February 10, 2015. Those who are selected as finalists for IACL competitions must submit proof of their age and rank to be included in the program.
Mantaro J. Hashimoto (MJH) Award for Chinese Historical Phonology
This new award is an annual prize in the amount of US $500, donated by Professor Anne Yue in memory of the eminent linguist and Sinologist, Professor Mantaro J. Hashimoto. It is offered as an encouragement to young scholars who wish to devote themselves to the study of Chinese historical phonology, a field in which Professor Hashimoto was especially interested and to which he made numerous important contributions.
The prize will be administered as part of the Young Scholar Award process. All YSA papers submitted in the field of Chinese historical phonology will automatically be concurrently considered for the MJH Award.
Submission Guidelines
Include “MJH” in the subject line of the submission email. Applicants should follow the published YSA guidelines and the above deadline in preparing their submissions. All regulations, restrictions, selection criteria, and current judging standards in the YSA process will apply to papers considered for the MJH Award, with the exception that MJH submissions must deal specifically with the area of historical phonology.
The Interdisciplinary Research Award (IRA)
This award is an annual prize in the amount of US $500, established in the honor of Professor Hsin-I Hsieh for his immense contributions to the IACL and to the field of Chinese Linguistics. The award is offered as a token of encouragement to young scholars who wish to devote themselves to interdisciplinary studies in Chinese linguistics. The prize will be administered as part of the Young Scholar Award (YSA) process. All papers with an interdisciplinary approach submitted for YSA will automatically be concurrently considered for this Interdisciplinary Research Award.

Include “IRA” in the subject line of the submission email.
Applicants should follow the published YSA guidelines and the above deadline in preparing their submissions. All regulations, restrictions, and selection criteria adopted in the YSA process will apply to papers considered for the Interdisciplinary Research Award, with the exception that these submissions must have an interdisciplinary focus, which includes interface studies (e.g., phonology-syntax, morphosyntax, syntax-semantics.), studies which combine diachronic and synchronic approaches, those that combine methodologies from different frameworks (e.g., formal, functional, typological), or those that combine linguistics and other disciplines (e.g., literature, anthropology, sociology, psychology, computer science).
