According to information jointly released by the China Tourism Academy and Ctrip, Xiamen ranked 3rd on the list of domestic tourist destinations during the Dragon Boat Festival vacation, and was among the top 10 popular tourist destinations for individual travelers.

During this vacation, the tourist market in our city remained steady, with the accommodation capacity of the main scenic spots, such as Wanshi Botanical Garden, China International Garden and Flower Exposition, accommodating the same amount of tourists compared with last year.

Huli Hill Fort accommodated over 16,000 visitors over three days, and around 4,000 people visited Wanshi Botanical Garden per day in the vacation, a lot more than at normal times.

According to the data of the ferry company at 7 pm on June 2, Gulangyu Island welcomed 16,000 tourists during this vacation. This number, compared with 111,500 visitors last year, increased by 40%.

Such a huge growth was mostly attributed to the weather conditions – last year, pouring rain during the Festival led to abnormal decline in the number of tourists. This year, with the sun shinning, the number of visitors increased, and exceeding the 145,700 visitors who came during the 2012 vacation of the Dragon Boat Festival.
