The Gulong Soy Sauce Cultural Park, which opened in Tong’an District in early 2013, is one of the most popular industrial tourism sites in Xiamen. The park, covering an area of about 50,000 square meters, has Asia's largest traditional sauce-making drying yard, and it is also listed in the World Guinness for its record 600,000 traditional big jars in the yard.
Probably the highest-rated TV documentary that China has ever made, the new season consists of seven episodes plus one behind-the-scenes special.
Over 300 delicacies will be shown during the 2nd season of the show, and it is the first time that Xiamen food culture was screened on the hit documentary. During the 2-minute scene, the traditional skills of making soy sauce in the cultural park and the impressive array of big jars in the drying yard was broadcast.
"With awe to the traditional culture, which has been passed down and tested through generations, we followed this thousands year old traditional culture to produce the flavorful and healthy soy sauce for our customers”, said a spokesperson from Xiamen Gulong Canned Food Co, the world’s largest soy sauce factory, which can churn out 60,000 bottles a day, and the world’s largest canned braised pork production plant.
Visitors can get free admission to the park, but those who want to visit the Rare Stone Pavilion need to buy a ticket, which is sold at RMB 25 per person. A tour guide service is available in the park for extra payment. The tour guide service costs RMB 50 for Chinese interpretation service and RMB 100 for English interpretation service.
It takes about one and a half hours to finish the tour in the cultural park.
